SMART Program
(Stimulating Maturity through Accelerated Readiness Training)
Each morning at Lancaster Christian School, the students in grades K-3 participate in our SMART program. This program involves a series of tumbling, tracing, spinning, reciting, balancing and cardiovascular movements targeted at stimulating the brain’s vestibular system. Students rotate through six stations, spending 1-2 minutes at each. Research has shown that the SMART program helps students to organize their thoughts and makes the brain more alert and energized, thus enhancing the learning that takes place in the classroom.
